Spent most of my life in theatre and education. Acted in play at age 6, before I had ever seen a play on stage. Wrote and directed my first play at age 8. Made my first film at age 12.

Began in video in the 1970's. Taught in public schools K thru college. Have been a visiting artist in residence in well over 100 schools and community centers. Drawn cartoons for the “underground” press. First Filmmaking grant awarded by the Wisconsin Arts Board. First “new media” grant awarded by the WAB for a text, music, animation work to be viewed on computer screens. Also visual art: masks, mandellas, puppets, props, sets, masks for theatre. Still creating now, most of it (but not all) in the digital realm. Work centered in stories, recycled-reused material, political/social change/justice/democracy issues.

7/7/06 experienced a massive heart attack. Survived. Cardiologist did an Angioplasty. Same cardiologist ignored a common complication that left me in severe pain, unable to walk & bleeding to death. Other MDs & technicians worked to save me. Now I am disabled, unemployed and fiscally impoverished. Still playwrighting a couple of times a year and writing several blogs for free. Living via food stamps, ssi disability, family care & generosity of family & friends.
